What is the Best Longwear Digifast Gaming Headset? Orpheus vs. Apollo
Looking for a longwear headset for long days of gaming this summer? We got you covered.
We wore the Orpheus Headset for 8 hours each.
Digifast has produced products for a top level immersed gaming experience. We focused on the quality, efficiency and comfort of the products. This is what we found in the following categories:

The headsets were worn for 8 hours with one hour break in between. The wear tests were held in separate weeks to allow the ears to rest and begin each headset review with fresh ears.
Orpheus (OP7) Headset
1.Fit: Is it comfortable?
First, it’s important to note that the Orpheus Gaming headset fits on-the-ear or slightly on-the-ear for most. The ear cups have an oval zero shape a tad bit smaller in diameter than the Apollo headset. The cups on the Orpheus Headset fit very snugly on an averaged sized ear. The memory foam of the ear cups themselves are of soft plush feel. There is definitely a pillowy pressure on some parts of the ear if the ear is not tucked in the ear cup. Due to the fit of the cup over the ear, the long-term pressure will begin to flare into some discomfort around the cartilage and bony top portion of the ear that is being gently pushed against your head by the headset. The discomfort is about 2/10 depending how much of the ear is being exposed to the consistent pressure. The top of the headset arch that rests on the top of your head has padding of the same memory foam that you get on the ear cups. It feels comfortable on the head and it was not an issue of discomfort.
2.Quality: Is it durable?
Generally speaking the headset will be durable based on its maintenance and storage using its custom portable pouch included with the purchase of an Orpheus headset.
The Orpheus headset is made of a light-weight hard plastic of a solid color with a matte finish. The logo caps on the outside of the ear cups are made of a light weight shiny metal with ever so thin snail lines that create a stunning helicopter glare when light reflects on it. Both the plastic ear cup shelling and the logo caps seem to resist chipping and discoloration due to the solid colored plastic. The microphone’s cord is intertwined within a metal tight coil. It is very flexible and can bend without cracking or creating damage to the tight metal coil shelling.
The microphone is detachable. It is made of the same hard plastic as the ear cup’s outer shelling. Unless you don’t have a headset stand and continuously let go of the headset with force on a hard surface, the headset should stay pristine and durable aesthetically.
3. Performance
The Orpheus headset features a noise-canceling adjustable microphone with exceptional quality of sound. The premium audio 7.1 surround feature is from a movie. Using the “Dolby Audio – 7.1 Surround Test Demo”, the Orpheus headset proved its sound quality. Each isolated sound effect from low to high sounded clear and as if they were in different areas of a room. Once combined into one melody, the melody sounded as if it was floating around you like a true surround sound feature should. You could only imagine that once you’re gaming you’ll be able to hear your opponents footsteps coming up the stairs from the far right behind you and your opponent tries to creep up but you already knew that and were able to prepare with your counter attack.
4.Overall Experience:
The overall experience of the headset is 8/10 as a long wearing headset. The gaming experience with its sound quality is incredible. It is by far the best headset we have tested in which you truly feel fully immersed into your sound experience. As far as long wearing goes, the headset does begin to spread discomfort due to the placement of the earmuffs. Although the earmuffs have a soft pillowy earmuff, the pressure over the 8 hours did begin to sore out the ears.
Apollo (X2) Headset
1.Fit: Is it comfortable?
The Apollo headset fits over-the-ear of the average ear. The ear cups have a round O shape and are bigger in diameter than the Orpheus headset’s ear cups. The ear cups on the Apollo Headset fit over-the-ear allowing them to slightly suction for even more effective noise isolation. The memory foam of the ear cups themselves are the same as the Orpheus headset of soft plush feel. There is also a pillowy pressure feel around the ear but it is ever so slight compared to the pressure felt from the Orpheus ear cups on the ear. Due to this over-the-ear fit, the ears are untouched and conveniently suctioned under the large ear cups. The top of the headset arch that rests on the top of the head has padding of the same memory foam as the ear cups from edge to edge. The headband design adjusts almost springlike to the head on its own.
2.Quality: Is it durable?

The Apollo headset is made of a light-weight black hard plastic with a 3 part line pattern and a matte finish. The logo caps on the outside of the ear cups are made of a solid silver metal with the Digifast original logo engraved on them and the remaining space coated in the brand’s red color. The plastic ear cup shelling seems to resist chipping and discoloration; the logo shell is exposed and more prone to shipping and discoloration if scraped against a hard surface. An Atlas Headset Stand is recommended to hang the Apollo headset after use. The microphone’s cord is also intertwined within a metal tight coil. It is flexible and can bend without cracking or creating damage to the tight metal coil shelling. The microphone is not detachable. It is made of the same hard plastic as the ear cup’s outer shelling. Unless you don’t have a headset stand and continuously let go of the headset with force on a hard surface, the headset should stay pristine and durable aesthetically.
3. Performance
The Apollo headset also features a noise-canceling adjustable microphone with average quality of sound. Unlike the Orpheus premium audio the sound is great but not an experience that ignites your senses as much as the Orpheus headset did. The Apollo headset gives you clear and crisp sound but falls second to the Orpheus because it is limited to 2 channel audio. This headset is the everyday gaming headset to pop on to play comfortably on a Sunday night.
4.Overall Experience:
The overall experience of the headset is 9/10 for long wear. Although the sound capacity is not as great as the Orpheus headset, the comfort of the headset is noticeably great. The self-adjustable and fully padded headband and the pillowy over the ear earmuffs allow for a light comfortable wear.
The Final Conclusion
In conclusion, the Apollo headset is the most comfortable headset to wear for a long period of time. Even though the Orpheus headset is aesthetically better, the overall design of the Apollo headset is most suitable for a long-wearing headset. It has a comfortable and self-adjustable fully padded headband design that does not limit or constraint the expansion of the headband. The Orpheus headset headband is limited to the shape and additional adjustable lengthening options. The Orpheus headband also only includes about 4 to 5 inches of padding on the middle of the headband. It is attached to the headband allowing pressure between the headband and the top of your head and eventually feels hard. The winning feature is the basic over-the-ear fit that allows the pillowy earmuffs to add noise isolation due to the slight suction effect it creates.In a long wearing headset, the main key is comfort. If you need a comfortable headset that you can wear for a full work shift or gaming session of 8+ hours, the Apollo headset is your compatible headset. In addition, to preserve the metal logo caps on the earcups, make sure to have the Atlas headset stand to avoid scraping and chipping.
